Terms and Conditions
At Bakedown Cakery, we take pride not only in the aesthetic quality of our bakes, but knowing that their delicious flavour comes from using the highest quality ingredients that we can get our mitts on! Everything is made from scratch in small batches in our studio kitchen, which means that most of our equipment has come into contact with gluten and nuts at some point in time. Please let us know if you have any severe allergies that we should be aware of and use your discretion when ordering!
Your Order and our Confirmation of the Order are considered by us to set out a contractual agreement between you and us for the sale of any Bakedown Cakery baked goods. Please check all details are accurate and correct, and that you understand the Full Terms and Conditions before placing your Order. Once your Order has been received and confirmed, a contract shall come into existence between us and you will henceforth be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
The Order is an offer by you to enter into a binding contract, which we are free to accept or decline at our absolute discretion.
EVENT + WEDDING DEPOSITS
If placing an order significantly in advance of your requested date, we require a 50% deposit to secure your order. The remaining balance is due 4 weeks prior to dispatch. Of course, you are more than welcome to pay the full amount upfront.
PRICE + PAYMENT
When placing an Order within the month of your requested date, we require payment in full to the value of your Order (as outlined in your Order Confirmation) within 7 days of invoice—unless otherwise agreed in writing by us. Your booking is not confirmed until full payment is received.
Where the required date for your Order is less than 5 business days away, a rush fee may be incurred.
Pickup is available from our shop in St Leonards (details provided upon Order Confirmation):

- Tues-Fri 10am-5pm
- Sat 9am-12pm
If you cannot pick your order up during these hours, please let us know and we will do our best to schedule an alternative time for you to come by. Also, as general courtesy please try to be on time for your scheduled pickup time. We understand that Sydney traffic can be unpredictable, but if you’re running a little late please let us know.
As all Bakedown Cakery Goods are baked in the same kitchen where nuts, gluten and dairy are present, we cannot guarantee that our products are nut/gluten/dairy free. However, we do try to make an effort to accommodate these allergies—please notify us when placing an order.
LOSS OR DAMAGES
All of our goods are packaged with care and attention, and we cannot be held responsible for products lost or damaged after they have left the Bakedown Cakery premises. Once dispatched, our responsibility as a seller ceases to exist and this warranty does not apply to any defect in the products provided arising from wilful damage, accident, negligence by you or any act of a third party, your failure to follow our instructions, or any alteration you carry out.
VARIATIONS IN FINAL PRODUCTS
All of our goods are individually handmade, and therefore may not always appear exactly as in photographs or descriptions. Any illustrations on our site are published to provide you with an approximate idea of the goods they describe. They do not form part of the contract between you and us or any other contract between you and us for the sale of Bakedown Cakery Goods.
CHANGES TO ORDER
Any major changes to your Order less than two full weeks before the required delivery date may incur a fee of $75 for reworking of design and/or loss of work already completed on the order.
CHANGE OF DATE
If you need to reschedule your Order and still require the services of Bakedown Cakery, your original deposit is transferable for 12 full weeks prior to your original required date, and can be put towards the booking of a new date should it be available for booking with Bakedown Cakery. After this allocated period of time, your deposit is no longer transferable or refundable and will become forfeit.
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
A full refund will be issued for any cancellation made formally in writing more than 12 full weeks prior to your required delivery date. If for any reason you wish to cancel your Order after this period, we will offer a full refund less the initial 50% deposit paid. However, cancellations made within 14 days are neither refundable nor transferable. In the unlikely event that we are unable to complete your order due to personal circumstance or otherwise, we will offer you a full refund. As Bakedown Cakery Goods are food products, we are unable to issue a refund once your Order has been completed.
