This year, for the return of our Eggspresso Martini Egg, we’ve collaborated with Cocktail Co to bring you a super special limited edition version with a butterscotch twist! Using spirits from small batch producers—Hampden Estate Overproof Pure Single Rum, Mr Black cold drip coffee and Coffee Amaro along with Baker Williams Butterscotch Schnapps this egg packs a punch.

About the cocktail

The Butterscotch Espresso Martini is a twist on the classic that draws on the fruity complexity of the rum, citrusy bitter flavours of the coffee amaro and velvety richness of the butterscotch schnapps, all tied together by the creamy bittersweet notes of chocolate.

About the rum – Hampden Estate Overproof Pure Single Rum

Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate is one of Jamaica’s oldest estates, located in an area traditionally associated with producing the grand cru of Jamaican rum. Still utilising the same production methods from over two centuries ago, the renowned distillery released in 2018 its own bottling of aged rums, which is available in Australia only in limited quantities. This particular rum is a multi-layered complex liquid, with intense fruit, rich butterscotch and dark smoky flavours.

About the amaro – Mr Black Coffee Amaro

As one of Australia’s most well-known coffee liqueurs, Mr Black needs no introduction. Its coffee amaro is a bitter liqueur inspired by Italy’s after-dinner drink tradition and Australia’s coffee culture. This special edition recipe captures the flavours and aromas found in both beverages: citrusy and herbaceous underscored by the distinct bitterness of coffee. It also makes use of herbs and fruit grown in the distillery’s own gardens, and continues to be made by hand at the award-winning Distillery Botanica in Erina, NSW under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Phillip Moore.

About the butterscotch schnapps – Baker Williams Butterscotch Schnapps

Mudgee’s first micro distillery Baker Williams has been run by husband and wife team Nathan and Helen Williams since 2012. Both make the distillery’s range of spirits and liqueurs but with a regional twist. The duo makes their own butterscotch base and blends it gently with neutral wheat spirit to create a rich liqueur that is not overly sweet but has a velvety burnt toffee and caramel flavour.

NB: Chocolates are best stored in a cool, dark and dry place and should never be placed in the refrigerator! Improper storage can affect the texture and taste of the chocolates. Please use your own discretion when ordering for postage during the hotter seasons, as we do not take responsibility for any melting due to the weather. If you're unsure, and are able to collect we generally advise pick-up or same day delivery (Sydney CBD only) over express post.
